Can you believe it’s June already? Check out how I earned income from my blog this month!
This post includes affiliate links that earn income at no cost to you.
I am so pumped!
The Reason I Provide Income Reports
I started this blog as a way to share different cuisines and cultures from around the world. And the more I blog the more I learn about the business side of blogging. As a daughter of an Entrepreneur, I grew up learning how to create my own business and I believe that you can do it too! I provide these monthly reports to show other bloggers that its possible to earn an income from doing something that you absolutely love.
Please be aware that I only include income I created just from the blog and not my freelancing. I currently provide assistance to other bloggers and businesses with SEO, video, content creation, social media management, recipe development and web coaching.
If you are looking for assistance for your blog, recipes for your food site, or coaching about how to build a better blog, please check out my Linkedin and my portfolio or contact me through my contact form or social media.

- Guest Post – $40
- Tailwind – $30
- Adsense – $0.40
This month my blog income was influenced by three items: a guest post, Tailwind affiliate income, and Google Adsense.
Guest posting is a great way to earn income and promote your blog at the same time. I recently signed up with MatadorU to learn about travel related submissions and press trips. I pitched a story to their editors about Florida State Parks using their app, TravelStoke. Check out my article, The Best State Parks in Florida and learn about some of the amazing state parks Florida has to offer.
Have you tried Tailwind yet? It’s honestly a game-changer for pinterest. I schedule up my pins for the week and a let tailwind do it’s thing! I earn about 65 new followers each week, which is really steady growth for putting in only 30 minutes of my time per week.
And it’s starting to pay off. I have received the bulk of my site visitors from pinterest!
See that little ad on the right of the screen? That little baby is earning me a teeny tiny amount of income. It’s not much but it’s almost enough for a 30 minutes of metered parking! Score!
To add ads to your site you must be using a self-hosted site. I use Bluehost. In fact by using this link you can start your own site for only 2.95 a month!
My Goals From May:
Did I reach them?
Facebook: 600 followers Reality: 441 followers
Pinterest: 700 followers Reality: 605 followers
Instagram: 400 followers Reality: 322 Followers
Twitter: (no goal): Reality: 94 Followers
Post: 15 posts (3 per week) + 1 Sponsored post + 2 Guest Posts Reality: 11 + 1 Guest Post
I didn’t meet them but it’s understandable because at the time of setting them I was unaware of my speed of growth. This next month I will set more attainable goals.
This month I’ve started incorporating video into my recipes with the help of my sister, Hayley. It’s fun and adds a great exposure on Facebook. I’m going to continue this.

What Didn’t Work
I didn’t get any sponsored posts this month…but I didn’t have time to pitch any. This next month I will pitch some brands I would love to work with.
My June Goals
My goals this month is to boost up my social media presence, reach out to a sponsor, and write at least one guest post.
I also want to get a grasp on affiliate marketing and how I can earn an income from adding links to my site. In fact, you can learn alongside me!
I am enrolled in a few affiliate programs that will allow me to earn income at no cost to the reader. It’s a win-win!
Looking to add affiliate links to your site? Check out these programs I am currently a part of!
Awin is the perfect jumping off point for bloggers that are new to affiliate marketing. Some of their partners include Etsy, Trusted House Sitters, and even Booking.Com . It’s free to join and a great way to earn money from your blog! (On a side note: Awin requires a one-time refundable $5 fee to open your account. Once you make your first sale it will be given back to you).
Share A Sale is great for bloggers because you can promote products that you use every single day like PicMonkey (the program I use to make all of my pinterest graphics) and Tailwind (what I mentioned above!)
Boost your blogging income with the affiliate programs above and keep a lookout for a guide coming soon!
